Fall Ball

We focus on instruction and improvement at all levels, with an atmosphere that is more relaxed than our Spring or Summer programs. Our Fall baseball program offers a fun and convenient option for all Brookline kids who want to extend their baseball season, stay involved in BYB and improve skills, with a reduced time commitment for many.

• This program provides a convenient in-town option for players across all skill levels and age groups
• Runs from the start of school through the beginning of November
• Registration details are sent out in the late Spring / early Summer
• No tryouts required.

Little Diamond - Farm Division - Ages 6-8

About the Program

• Generally for players entering Grade 2.
• The program is for both players new to the game and for experienced players who want more time to work on fundamentals
• Our goal is to provide players with the fundamental skills they will need to enjoy the sport at higher levels
• They will also learn the basic rules of the game, teamwork and sportsmanship
• This is a coach pitch league with a station based format
• One game per week (on Sundays) and a team practice on either Wednesdays or Thursdays. (practice days may shift based on field and coach availability)
• Most activities will take place at Lawrence or Amory

Little Diamond - Lower Division - Ages 8-10

About the Program

• • Generally for players entering into Grades 3 and 4.
    
  • Lower Division is a good fit for children who played at least AA in the Spring and want to continue developing
    
    • Each practice is structured with half of the time focused on skills and drills and the other half on a scrimmage with another team
    • Teams meet one day a week for practice (Wednesday or Thursday) and on Sundays for full games
    • Most activities will take place at Robinson or Waldstein

Little Diamond - Upper Division - Ages 10-12

About the Program

• • Generally for players entering into Grades 5 or 6 (who remain eligible for Little League play this Spring)
  • The focus is on advanced individual skills and game strategies
  • Players have played at least at the AAA level in the prior Spring
  • Each team works with a coach and a student-athlete from Brookline High School
  • Each practice is structured with half of the time focused on skills and drills and the other half on a scrimmage with another team
  • League will also provide clinics on Mondays or Tuesdays on a rotating basis for further skill development
  • Teams meet one day a week for practice (Wednesday or Thursday) and on Sundays for full games
  • Most activities will take place at Eliot or Larz Anderson

Big Diamond - Seniors - Age 13-15

About the Program

• • • Senior League is an introduction to the big diamond for players who have experience playing Majors or Summer 12U Baseball, entering grades 7, 8, or 9 and no longer have eligibility for Small Diamond Little League
    • Seniors will participate in the Norwood Fall League on weekends as well as some weekday practices
      
    • Focus is on skill development for the big diamond and includes base leading, stealing, balks, pick-off plays and advanced hitting techniques
    • Teams are formed by the League Commissioner

   

Options for 13+

  • Fall Bandits, for players 13 - 14
  • Fall Ball Classic, for players in Grades 9 -12
  • Both options are for players looking to extend the season and continue building on skill development and game strategy
